Misty and her brother Dewey and sister Comet are siblings in the first litter we whelped. These three puppies were our keepers from the litter of seven. They jumped the number of our Siberian Husky kids from four to seven.
Conformation
Misty's debut in the conformation ring (photo at left) was impressive as she went WB for 1 point at the age of 6 months 5 days. She followed that performance by winning her class next time out 3 weeks later. Three times now Misty has gone WB when JR went WD in the same show; at the Delaware Water Gap KC she was WB, BOW and now has 4 points.
Misty's Pedigree
Today we said our final good-byes to our sweet little girl Misty (CH Siberlink's Arctic Mist O'Marionhill), July 30, 2005 - December 2, 2016.
Misty was a precocious little girl. She was 6 months and 5 days old in her first show and went Winners Bitch from the Bred-By class for her first point. By the time she was 10 1/2 months old she only needed her two majors. Then we had a little incident with some Gorilla Glue and she had no coat for about 9 months because of the heavy antibiotic she was taking. Even so, she was entered in Bred-By at the Chesapeake SHC Specialty in 2007 and was WB for a 5 point major. And 11 weeks later at the Garden State SHC Specialty she finished her Championship with a 4 point major at age 22 months, all points came from the Bred-By class. She was entered in a few shows after her CH and was either BOB or BOS. And she a had a short career as a Veteran. In fact, 7 weeks ago she was Best Veteran In Sweeps in her last show.
Misty was truly an easy-going gentle girl who only occasionally got testy with her litter sister when they were younger. Misty loved to be on the grooming table and would stay there for hours if asked to do so, as long as she was the center of attention. She had a beautiful howl that would get the other fur kids going and put a smile on my face. When I was working in my office she would come in to visit. She would always sit up and place her front paws on my leg, as if to say "My turn. Spend some time with me.". I would always stop whatever I was working on and spend as long as she wanted talking to her and scratching her head or rubbing her belly. I'm going to miss that as well as her woowoos.
For now, we say good-bye. But, we will be together again one day. We know you will proudly wear your Silver Harness as you wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge with our fur kids that have gone before you. God speed Misty. Rest in peace.
