Other Neat Stuff

  1. BulletWebster has made about 30 nursing homes visits.

Webster joined the family on July 3, 2004.  He is the eighth Siberian in our family.  And our first from our own breeding.  He is our first home bred champion!

Conformation

Webster at 11 weeks and his mom, Lucy, who is resting after a tough day of playing with her boy.

Webster's show career got started at the Canine Learning Experience, a match show sponsored by the Lehigh Valley KC in Jan. 2005.  He went Group 3 in the Working Group Sweeps and won his 6-9 month regular class.  His first real test was at the Mohawk Valley KC two weeks later, and he came through with flying colors by winning his 6-9 month puppy class (see photo at left).

After some shows to get his feet wet Webster has begn to make his mark.  Still in the puppy class, at 8 months he got his first Reserve and a couple of weeks later he earned his first points by going WD, BOW for a 3 point major.  He followed that up 6 days later with another WD, BOW for 2 points; then another WD, BOW for his 2nd 3 point major and another WD, BOW for 1 point; and yet another WD for 1 point in the same show where his mother Lucy went WB, BOW, BOB for 2 points and her Championship.  By the time he was 10 months and 10 days old he had accumulated 10 points that included both majors!

During June 2005 Webster went BOB, PG3 and BOS, PG4 in back to back shows and then 2 weeks later went BOW for his Championship title at the age of 11 months 14 days.  And to top things off, all of Webster's points were earned in either the 6-9 month or the 9-12 month puppy classes.

Obedience

Webster got his first taste of obedience competition in September 2006 in the Rally Novice B class.  He qualified in 3 consecutive trials, including a 3rd place, for his Rally Novice (RN) title.  He is currently getting ready for the Novice Obedience ring and should be ready during the fall of 2007.

Webster’s Final Run

Earlier this afternoon, June 11, 2016,  we said our good-byes to Webster (CH Siberlink's Webmaster OMarionhill CD RN OA OAJ) July 3, 2004 - June 11, 2016.

He apparently had at least one seizure during the night and could not get up or stand this morning. He was in pain as well. We took him to his acupuncture vet, who worked with him for 5+ hours. During this time he had a few more seizures and eventually a grand mal seizure. His temp was 105 when we got to the vet and spiked at 107; we never could get it below 104.4. And he never recovered from the overnight seizure(s). After the grand mal our options were to take him to an emergency vet to be put on life support where he might die alone or help him cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Webster was a wonderful Siberian Husky. He began his show career at 8 months with a 3 point major on my birthday and 11 weeks later had his championship. A shoulder/neck injury resulting in 2 compressed discs ended his competitive career and he became a house dog. He loved that! And after Frankie passed away Webster became our alpha male and let everyone know it.

Webster was a gentle dog and enjoyed his new career as my wife's first therapy dog.

Webster was a wonderful companion and friend. His presence will be sorely missed. No more walks to the training building to chase the tennis ball; no more chasing the red Cuz ball in the yard. I will miss that. Run free of pain Webster and wear your Silver Harness with pride. God speed Webster; until we meet again.
